As sourcers and recruiters, we’re typically expected to market the positions we are working on. For that reason, it’s smart to stay on top of any tools that could be used for marketing or branding your jobs to the list of candidates (some of you call this a talent community) you’ve been developing over the years.
Clammr is a new application intended to help content creators share music, podcasts, or blog posts with their audience. However, like many other applications, a scrappy recruiter can use Clammr to share important stories about their company or to provide a brief (18 second) description of a job with a link to the posting.
Here’s a sample of some of the Clammrs I created this morning. Since I’m currently a content creator, I focused on the top ERE, TLNT, and SourceCon posts from this month.
What recruiters and sourcers should share on Clammr
1) Job posts – If you’re managing a talent pool and you want to share current openings and keep people engaged, this is a great way to do it.
2) News stories – If your organization is mentioned in the press, provide a short intro with a link to the story or video.
3) Company blog posts and press releases – Share information about your company. Did you recently launch a new product or raise a round of funding? Did your employees spend a day building a home for a local non-profit? Share this all on Clammr.
How to create a Clammr
1) Register at Clammr.com
2) Identify the content you want to feature.

3) Create the audio introduction. I used Audible for Mac to do this but any tool that will allow you to create MP3’s will work. The audio portion must be under 18 seconds long.
4) Choose an image. For the example above, I took a screenshot of the article I was highlighting.
5) Provide a link to the article, video, or podcast.
6) Share the post to social networks. To create a widget like you see above, use the widget creator.
